I have been curious about these essential training tops. The TA athletic fit T-shirts are a staple of my warddrobe. These training tops have more polyester and less cotton, and a different range of colors. The black friday sale on these $12/shirt) made it less risky to try. I find them a similar fit to the athletic fit T-shirt, a little less stretch perhaps. Much thinner fabric, with a cooler feel to it, but also very good shape retention. The colors look good. The only real negative for me is the sleeve length: “short” sleeves go well below the midline of the bicep, but they fit snugly enough that they’ll stay up higher than that if you wish it. In general, I like them. I am 6’5” 195 lbs currently, and wearing a Medium. I recommend going down a size from what you would wear in a TA button-down shirt. The charcoal color is subtle, has a hint of a sheen to it without looking like a plastic exercise top, and could be worn as casualwear on a warm day. I doubt it will shrink at all.

Nice fit if a little on the small side. Good quakity material although yet to wash. Really good as a baselayer in this colder weather too!
